The
Bakersfield Pageant has been directed & produced by GT Productions for over fifteen years. It is the local program that
selects three representatives from our community to compete in the Miss California International & Miss California Teen
International Pageant. There is newer division for married women, who can also compete for the title of Mrs. California
International. (Age requirements: Teen; 14-17, Miss 18-25 & Mrs. 21+ years old).
Scholarships, prizes, local appearances, personal training and the opportunity to represent Bakersfield
are presented to the women selected. Judging is based upon poise, personality, overall physical appearance and speaking ability.
Competition consists of interview, aerobic wear & evening gown. All contestants in the Bakersfield Pageant receive training
in interview technique, modeling, fashion coordination, make-up & hair styling, public speaking and self-image evaluation.
The director is Gayle Tape, a resident of Bakersfield,
former Miss California & Miss USA finalist. She has been directing & producing pageants for over 29 years with a background
in television journalism & credential in Fashion Coordination & Modeling.
All judges for the Bakersfield Pageant are selected from outside of Kern County, to
ensure impartial judging. They are business professionals with experience in the pageant or entertainment industry. Requirements
